About ScentMetric

Why I Built This

I spent months digging through Reddit threads, Facebook groups, and fragrance forums trying to find affordable alternatives to the colognes I loved. The information was out there — buried in hundreds of scattered posts across r/fragrance, r/fragranceclones, Fragrantica reviews, and YouTube comments. But nothing was in one place. Nothing was organized. Nothing was scored.

I'd open 15 tabs just to figure out whether Lattafa Khamrah was actually close to Angels' Share, or if people were just hyping it. I'd cross-reference Reddit posts with YouTube reviews with Fragrantica ratings. Every time I wanted to try a new clone, it was another hour of research.

So I built what I wished existed. ScentMetric takes all that fragmented community knowledge and structures it into a single, searchable database with transparent scores.

How We Score

Every clone is rated on four metrics based on community consensus from fragrance forums, Reddit discussions, and review platforms.

Similarity40%
How close the scent is to the original
Performance20%
Overall strength and presence
Projection20%
How far the scent carries
Longevity20%
How many hours it lasts on skin

The overall ScentMetric Score is a weighted average: Similarity (40%) + Performance (20%) + Projection (20%) + Longevity (20%).
